When I was born in Kazakhstan, my parents quickly decided to move to Germany to give me and my younger brother the best education. And I returned the favour for this life-changing commitment by dedicating my whole life to... Video games?

Yes. No regrets.

I grew up in Aachen, the westernmost city in Germany and Gaming was always my passion since 4 year old me and my dad played Turtles in Time on our SNES. You could say it was in my DNA from the get go.

Naturally I (and an entire generation) dreamed about someday doing a job, which involves video games. But I didn’t really know in what kind of shape or position. So I enrolled at the University of Siegen, which has a focus on game studies and pop culture media, and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Media Science.

During and after my studies, I jumped around the games industry, learned to chase my dreams, met a lot of skilled and talented people, which is why Gamescom now feels a bit like a class reunion every year. Some are press, some promote their newest gear or game. And I’m just happy to be part of the industry like I always dreamed.

Jumping to November 2023: My girlfriend and I decided to live abroad and move to beautiful Copenhagen in Denmark. Now I spend my days enjoying delicious pølser, coffee, beer, skinkeboller and light lots of candles.
